Shirdi Saibaba took Mahasamadhi (left his mortal coil) on the Vijayadasami or Dasara day in 1918. The Punyathithi is observed on the 10th day or dasami day during the Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month.Only his physical body has vanished. His presence is felt by thousands of devotees- as BABA assured while he had the gross form. His teachings continue to guide and inspire millions of people daily!! BABA ,unlike ordinary beings, was not born to a mother. His birth year is calculted to be approx 1838 AD. He lived in Shirdi for an unbroken period of 60 years.
His beautiful body is buried in the BUTI WADA, more populary known as the "Samadhi Mandir", Shirdi.
