Gifted and Called

For God’s gifts and his call can never be withdrawn.
—Hebrews 11:29 (NLT)

Let’s call an “anointing” the thing(s) you can do most efficiently with the least amount of effort. What is your anointing? What are your gifts? I remember in my late teens, I went through a phase where I never wanted to participate in anything music related. Because of this, some people used to tell me, “If you don’t use your gift, you’re going to lose it.” I almost believed that exaggeration of truth, until I came across this Bible verse above: The gifts and callings of the Lord are without repentance (change). When God calls a person to do something, He does not change His mind. Our gifts and our Calling are always going to be ours.

It’s up to us to decide how we are going to Utilize the things God has given us. Let’s admit: if you ever give someone a gift and they choose not to put the gift to use, that is something that can be a little bit offensive. Nevertheless, however a person chooses to utilize their gift is one-hundred percent up to them. After all, it is theirs. Each of us has a calling that is ours. It is important for us to realize, cultivate, and utilize what God has given us. We can draw inspiration from others but, ultimately, the fulfillment of each of our calling is strictly between each of us and God.

God has commanded blessings on His people and they are blessings that cannot be withdrawn. He is not going to change His mind about you, but make sure you don’t change your mind about you either. The Bible says, knock and keep on knocking, ask and keep on asking, seek and keep on seeking. Today, we’ll say it like this: be assertive in cultivating and optimizing the gift and calling that is yours. You have a purpose to fulfill. God is always there to guide us on the paths that are ours, but we have to be willing to follow His directions and take the steps necessary.

Lots of Love, XO
