Guilt Free

You may believe there’s nothing wrong with what you are doing, but keep it between yourself and God. Blessed are those who don’t feel guilty for doing something they have decided is right. But if you have doubts about whether or not you should eat something, you are sinning if you go ahead and do it. For you are not following your Convictions. If you do anything you believe is not right, you are sinning.
—Romans 13:22-23 (NLT)

We live in a diverse world, where people have many different beliefs and convictions. What is the true definition of what is right and wrong? It goes without say that not everyone’s convictions are the same. I never forget the one entertainer who said she believes she obtained a disease because of certain decisions she made in her past. What are some of your opinions about similar matters like this? Do we believe that guilt and karma are what cause people to suffer in this life? Why or why not?

It’s my personal opinion that, whenever something bad happens, if there is anything that comes to mind, that makes a person feel like the universe is paying them back for something, then maybe their Conscience is telling them that it’s time to make peace with whatever they are feeling guilty about. All people will never believe in the same ideas about what is right. However, you know what you personally believe. That is why you might also be the only one who knows how to clear your own conscience, when necessary.

Paul says that things become wrong, for you and I to engage in, when we believe something is not right, but choose to engage in it anyway. Guilt comes from sinning against one’s personal conscience. There’s no real need to consult anyone else’s opinion on a matter, during times when the way you feel is already deeply embedded inside of your conscience. The best persons you and I can get to know are ourselves. We are the only ones who can tell what makes us feel un/comfortable; adjusting ourselves to suit. As much as it depends on you, make peace with your past. Make a conscience decision to try to always live as guilt free as you can.

Lots of Love, XO
