Take off the blindfold!

Zeal Without Knowledge

Have you ever met someone who had so much zeal for something such as raising a child, planning a wedding, starting a business, etcetera? You could hear the excitement and happiness in their voice as they told you how they planned to accomplish whatever they'd been dreaming about. And yet, you knew they had no idea of what they were doing. Basically they were clueless and had little or no Knowledge of the situation.
In the same way we can have great energy or enthusiasm for religious matters but lack the knowledge of the truth. {Think of Mormons, Jehovah's Witness, Muslims, etcetera.}
Saul (Paul) is an example of this:
Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless. But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.  Philippians 3

Knowledge Without Self-Control

Another way we can be clueless- despite having knowledge- is to turn from or reject what we already know.
Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great? And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king: Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.
II Chronicles 1:10-12

King Solomon was the wisest King of all because he sought to please God. He wrote many proverbs and songs. Yet he became one of the biggest fools when he chose to reject the wisdom and knowledge of God. This happened because he disobeyed Deuteronomy 17:17 which says not to multiply wives. He allowed his heart to be turned to the idols which the women worshipped. Such a sad ending to a great reign as Israel's king. Some people say Solomon began to be filled with self-pride, believing all he had-power, wisdom, knowledge, and riches- were the result of his human ingenuity and not by the hands of the living God.

Knowledge Without Love

In New Testament time the Pharisees had the authority of teaching Moses law. Here is what Jesus told the disciples about them: "Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples, 2)Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: 3)All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not." Matthew 23

In this same chapter, Jesus says these hypocritical Pharisees are Blind Guides without the love of God.  They take the incomplete knowledge they have learned and twist it to fit their agenda. Not caring for souls or the real truth, they are motivated by their carnal nature not God's divine nature. Sad to say, the same Pharisee spirit is alive and well in the religious so-called Christian world today. If you want to read more on this go here.

What's more, Jesus reveals the true motivation behind much of their teachings or words:

16 Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!

17 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?

18 And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty.
19 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?
20 Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.
21 And whoso shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.
Matthew 23
If you have been following the false teachers of modern times-the blind guides- please wake up and take off your blindfold. The day is approaching when you will be lead off the cliff of destruction by these 'angels of light'. Jesus' light is bright and has no darkness at all. Real ministers of the gospel will give you the pure word, not a motivational speech or pep talk. The holy character of Jesus will be magnified and glorified instead of the fame and fortune of a false prophet.

Don't Be Part of the Laocedian Church!
Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Revelation 3
