Must you have a religion to have a relationship with God?

Simply put, NO! A Relationship with God isn’t about religion!  God wants to have an individual and unique relationship with all of us.  Religion is a product of man’s “my way is better” mentality. God didn’t create it! In fact, read Isaiah 29:13 and you will clearly see God’s view on religion. I’m not saying leave your religion! All I’m saying is it certainly isn’t necessary to have a certain religion/denomination to have a personal relationship with God.

Ok, you may be asking,  “if religion isn’t necessary for God, then what is?”  Well, I would say that first and foremost, your heart must be sincere.  Then, accept Jesus as your Savior and Lord. Put your faith in Him.  How do you do that?  Pray. Talk to God. It doesn’t have to be elaborate, full of big important sounding words or long.  Tell God you know your sins have kept you from Him. Tell God you need Him. Tell Him you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and that you know Jesus died for your sins and thank Him.  Then ask Jesus to come into your life. To show you the way.  To forgive your sins. In other words, Sincerly repent your sins. Do this every day.

Is it really that simple?  YES!  You may not feel anything at first, then again, you may. Be consistent and sincere and God will show you he is listening. He will show you his grace in things both big and small. Often times when you least expect it.
