Carl Jung: " The serious illness of my wife has consumed all my spare time."

To Father Victor White

Dear Victor, 6 May 1955

The serious illness of my wife has consumed all my spare time.

She has undergone an operation so far successfully, but it has left her in a feeble state
needing careful nursing for several weeks to come.

Since I am the cause of much discomfort to you I am not sure whether you care to see me or not.

Please put conventionality aside and do not feel under any obligation.

I can understand your true situation and I would prefer not to add to its spikes and thorns.

A conventional call means nothing to me, and a straightforward talk may be painful and not desirable.

Please decide according to your judgment.

Needless to say, you can count upon my friendship .

Cordially yours, C.G. ~Carl Jung, Letters Vol. II, Page 251.
