The British Prime Minister has decided to call time on her troubled tenure. She will stand down on June 7 after President Trump's state visit.
Mrs Theresa May became the Prime Minister after Britain voted in a June 2016 referendum to leave the European Union. However, she has not been able to negotiate a mutually acceptable divorce package. She therefore had to bow to a massive Tory mutiny over her Brexit plans.
The leader of the Conservative Party finally admitted defeat after the shambles. She insisted ‘I’ve done my best.’

Hear the prime minister, 'I've done my best, I have done everything I can to convince MPs to back that deal ... sadly I have not been able to do so.
'It is and will always remain a matter of deep regret to me that I have not been able to deliver Brexit.'
Mrs May walks into the sunset
The dramatic move came after the prime minister's last-ditch effort to get her EU deal through the Commons backfired spectacularly. Tories were up in arms and the Cabinet mounted an open revolt after she offered MPs a vote on holding a second referendum and joining a temporary customs union with the EU.
Mrs May's resignation as Conservative leader will trigger a contest that should be complete by the end of July.
