Let the Burdens Go

Do you feel like you have some Burdens that wear you down? Maybe they burden you to the point that you feel restricted in how you can live your life. Maybe you feel ashamed to call them burdens at all, wanting to see everything that comes your way as an exciting opportunity. We let life become a burden when we don't take the time to breathe and relax, taking time for ourselves to better our mental, physical and emotional well-being. God wants us to be the best version of ourselves, which comes more so when we enjoy our lives, taking some time to see the joys in life, even though they may only come in occasional glimpses. Do you take time for you?
Today's Gospel states: 'Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all you who labour and are overburdened, and I will give you rest. Shoulder my yoke and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Yes, my yoke is easy and my burden light"' (Matthew 11:28-30).
Today's reading talks about how Jesus calls all who are labouring and have great burdens. Jesus tells us that we don't need to feel burdened, as much as we may feel weighed down. He wants to help us carry the load, no matter how heavy it may be. It can feel challenging when we have to jungle millions of things, making life feel like an everyday burden to make it to bed at night. Take some time for you today to take a break and breathe, asking God to help you find the time to enjoy each day and find the joy.
Today we pray:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for helping me to see the joy in each and every day. Help me when I feel burdened, to help carry my burdens so that I can enjoy my life to the fullest.
I pray in Your most holy name, Amen.
