Embrace the Change

Are you a person who likes change? Most people aren't, feeling panicked and stressed when you know your daily routine, daily life is about to make a drastic change. I myself like to have some sort of a plan, to know how to make adjustments with changes Ahead of time so that I can prepare. We all like to have a balance, to know what's going to happen and have everything planned out so that there are no surprises. However, God isn't quite working on the same schedule as us, and we need to learn to accept the changes as they come. Most of the time, a change means that for a time, that's where God is calling us to be, one way or another, and we need to learn to be acceptant as they come along. Are you ready to Embrace the change?
Today's Gospel states:'"Think not that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets; I have come not to abolish them but to fulfil them. For truly, I say to you, till Heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven' (Matthew 5:17-19).
Today's reading talks about how Jesus has come to fulfill the laws of the prophets, not to get rid of them. The people of the time had this ideal image of what their Messiah would look like, who he would be and what he would do for them. However, they were greatly surprised when he came to change their ideals, to show them a different way, where God was truly calling them to be. They couldn't accept it. We too have times where we struggle accepting the changes we face, even stress and dread them. What kind of a life is that to live? God wants us to embrace the changes ahead, knowing that He is with us through them all. Take some time to pray and ask God to help you work on accepting changes as they come.
Today we pray:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for having a plan for my life. Help me to embrace changes as they come, even if they may not be what I had envisioned.
I prat in Your most holy name, Amen.
