Do you ever get a Song stuck in your head? Maybe you're standing around at work and you just start humming that catchy tune that was on the radio earlier. Just as we form ideas and words in terms of having conversations with people around us, music becomes a gateway to the soul, becoming ingrained in our minds and hearts, even if we don't realize it, hence getting songs stuck in your head. I know for myself, there is always a tune in my head, ranging from worship music, to country, to musicals. It speaks to how I'm feeling and what's on my mind. God gives us the words we need, the tune to sing, a part of our human nature and our desire to evangelize out of love? What song is on your heart right now?
Today's Psalm states:'He drew me up from the desolate pit, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of Praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the LORD. I have told the glad news of deliverance in the great congregation; lo, I have not restrained my lips, as thou knowest, O LORD. I have not hid thy saving help within my heart, I have spoken of thy faithfulness and thy salvation; I have not concealed thy steadfast love and thy faithfulness from the great congregation. But may all who seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee; may those who love thy salvation say continually, "Great is the LORD!"' (Psalms 40:3-4, 10-11, 17).
In today's Psalm we hear of how God puts a song in our mouths. We cannot hide away or restrain ourselves from this song of praise, as that would go against our very nature as Children of God. Just as we were created to continually seek the goodness of God, we were made to evangelize, to go out and share this love with all humanity. It's a song on our lips, and it's a part of our responsibility as people of faith. Do you find yourself filled with praise, with the desire to help others to know the love of God? Take some time to thank God for our song of praise.

Dear God,
We praise you today with our hearts and songs, we praise you for your faithfulness, we praise you for your great power and love. We confess our need for you, our lives don't go so well when we just spin around on our own. We struggle and worry, get weary and worn. Yet you never leave us. Thank you for your presence. Thank you for your care over us, thank you that you breathe renewal right into our souls. We ask for your spirit to fill us, to draw us close to yourself, and to work your purposes through us, as we set our eyes on you.
In Jesus' Name, Amen.
