The Psalms always touch me the most, whether it be because I have a passion for music and the music and lyrics draw me in, or because of the basic fact that they were the praising and pleading testimonies of the people. They have the most emotion and sentiment towards God. Do you have a specific Psalm that is your favourite? When we look closer into Bible passages, God speaks to us in different ways, through prophets, parables, stories of important Bible figures. We not only get lessons from the Bible, but God speaks to us through the power of the Holy Spirit, targeting things in our lives where we need His guidance and love, even if we don't realize it. In today's readings, how is God touching your heart?
Today's Psalm states:'Make me to know thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me, for thou art the God of my salvation; for thee I wait all the day long. Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in the way. He leads the humble in what is right, and teaches the humble his way. All the paths of the LORD are steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies. The friendship of the LORD is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant' (Psalms 25:4-5, 8-10, 14).
Today's Psalm puts our Prayer lives in perspective, what they should be. The Psalmist asks God to teach us His ways, to lead us to salvation. It continues on to praise, love and recognize God in every day, asking to help make us humble. This is how we should enter prayer each day, and look at scripture from there. We need to recognize everything good God has given us, thank God for the things we have, the things yet to come, and ask God to guide us and recognize His Spirit working in our lives. Take some time to ask God to help you look closer at Scripture and enter into a deeper prayer life.

Lord, thank you for this time you’ve given me to open your Word and discover who you are. Thank you that you don’t leave us in the dark about who you are and what you are doing in the world, but that you have revealed yourself and your will through the Bible, your sacred words to us. Lord, I need wisdom as I read your Word. You promise us in James 1:5 that we only have to ask for wisdom to receive it. Lord, please give me your wisdom now as I approach your word. Help me discern the truth of this text. Help me not rely on my own understanding. Thank you God for the clarity, encouragement and hope your Word brings. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
