Living Life In The Word Lesson 6: Don't Worry About It (Part 1)

Theme Scripture: Psalms 37: 1-2

Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
.

We all go through trials and tribulations. We all suffer persecution or will suffer persecution. The enemy is constantly launching his fiery darts at us. We always find ourselves worrying about anything and everything, especially when we are the people of God. We find ourselves worrying about our finances, our education, our home, our bills, our marriage, our families, our jobs, even our lives. We worry about what people could do and how they could do it, and God understands that. Worrying is apart of our human nature. However, God is telling us not to worry about anything. Don't worry about whatever is bothering you! God is in control! God is still on his throne and he will never step off it! God is telling his people in these last days as the church age comes to a close and evil is intensifying by the second, don't worry about it! It's alright! God got your back! Let's take a look at verse 1 of Psalms 37:
Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
Do you know what "fret" means? Fret means to be constantly or visibly worried or anxious. God is telling us not to worry about those who do evil. Don't worry those who seek to do your harm and have evil as their intent! Don't get envious, or jealous, against those who ate wicked, or those who work for wickedness. Don't get jealous at those who work for wickedness. Why shouldn't we worry about those people? It tells us in verse 2:
For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
You shouldn't worry because they shall be cut like the grass. And the last time I checked, grass is cut down violently. Evil will not last in the earth. God shall destroy the wicked as it says in Psalms 94:23 and Psalms 37: 38. They may think they are going to last, but they shall be cut down. They shall be put back in their place by God himself. Don't worry about what you are going through and how your co-workers are doing evil against. Don't worry about how you classmates and your teachers not doing you right. Don't worry about how your supervisor is withholding your paycheck because he hates you. Why? God shall destroy the wicked. The bible says in Psalms 1:4, The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. They shall wither-dry up, decay, shrivel up- as the leaf. God is fighting for you. 2 Chronicles 32:8 says but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. You don't have to worry about fighting your battles because God is going to fight for you. He will fight your battles! The battles which you are facing do not belong to you, but to God! It doesn't matter what you are going through! It doesn't matter what people say and do unto you because God will fight for you. When you worry, that is a sign of doubt. That is a confession that says you don't trust God! You don't believe that he will make it all right! You don't believe that God will fight your battles. And when worry it leads to fear. And the bible says 1 John 4: 18 Fear hath torment. Why are you going to put yourself through all that trouble and suffering, when you can trust God and let him fight your battles? Now, I am not saying that trusting in God is easy because it is not. However, that is why God rewards us for trusting in him. The bible says in Jeremiah 17: 7-8:
Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit. When you trust in God and let him fight your battles, you are going to prosper. Why? It's because God has never lost a battle and he never will! He always comes out victorious- and I can testify to that. So many battles have occurred in my life. And in each and every one I came out victorious because God fought my battles. And you know what, he wants to fight your battles. And eventually, he will end up fighting our battles. So why try to fight them on our own when we have an undefeated champion who wants to fight for us? It's because we worry. And worrying is doubt which leads to tear which leads to torment which leads to stress which leads to a whole new mess of problems like drinking and drugs and now the devil got you trapped in his playground. However, God looks after his children and he will fight for you and deliver you from the enemy. However, why don't you take the easy way out but going straight to God, trust him, and let him fight your battles? Sounds like the smart thing to do. It will save you a great deal of time and trouble. So don't worry about the battle you are facing and trust God. He, not you, will make it all right!
