The Business Leader Spotlight Show was founded by Randy Van Ittersum and Richard E. Spalding, who are both authors, radio show hosts and media experts in their own right. Mr. Van Ittersum is an entrepreneur who is passionate about helping local businesses expand and grow their own organizations. He views The Business Leader Spotlight Show as a vehicle for reaching out and impacting entrepreneurs by having other successful business leaders share their knowledge with listeners through the show.

The show's co-founder, Mr. Spalding strongly advocates "compassionate capitalism" and believes in the concept of sharing his knowledge with others to help further their business ventures. When starting The Business Leader Spotlight Show, he was motivated by reaching a larger audience and helping them so they could gain insights into what other successful business leaders are doing in their own businesses.
