Although I have been on a bit of a blogging hiatus over the last 6 months, I can’t allow our wedding Anniversary to pass us by without a Love letter to my Neal. (It’s tradition afterall, I’ve been writing a post each year of our marriage. I’ll share the links below!)

Today marks 6 years since we celebrated our wedding with close friends and family. 6 years? How the hell is that possible?

I guess what they say is true, ‘Time flies when you are having fun.’

Here is how an actual conversation with Neal goes:

B: Neal guess what?

N: What?

B: You are my favorite person in the whole wide world.  And I get to see you every single day – how lucky am I?

N: (Replies with a small smile.)

Neal is my favorite person in the world, because he has so many wonderful qualities that I aspire to be more like.  He his thoughtful and patient, he weighs solutions to problems very carefully, he is loyal as all hell and he has an interesting (or memorable) sense of humor.   He also has a way of bringing out the best in me, while helping me to grow in ways I didn’t think were possible.

He is my favourite. 

And with that, here are a few thoughts to my favorite person in the world – Neal:

To My Neal,

Thank you for the adventures.

From day adventures here in North Wales to roadtrips around Italy, Iceland or France, I love our adventures – every single one of them.  I can’t imagine better things in the world than exploring somewhere new (including getting lost) with your favorite person.  Our adventures keep our wandering hearts happy while building thousands of new memories.  In our 6 years of marriage we have traveled to 10 different countries and accumulated thousands of ‘roadtrip’ miles – and the best part, we have no plans to stop. Thank you for exploring the world with me.

Thank you for the support.

Life is filled with challenges, and I although I face them bravely – I feel much more confident with you by my side.  I am constantly trying new things – taking on new roles – finding my stretch ‘assignment’ – you are always by my side.  You are always telling me I can handle it, I can take on the next ‘big’ challenge – that I can do it.   And your confidence and support in me, gives me the courage to take the leap and simply to go for it.  Thank you for being my biggest cheerleader.

Thank you for the laughter.

We laugh together alot – which not only makes me happy, it makes me feel less stressed and even a bit grounded.  The laughter reminds me pretty quickly that any stressful moment will pass, and if not we will be able to find a silver lining together. Thanks for having fun on this roller coaster of life with me.

Thank you for love.

Our everyday love story is filled with small moments and gestures, that are chocked with thoughtfulness and love.  From early morning rides to the train station, eating primarily vegetarian food or humoring me while we watch Moana – these little gestures all come from a true and sweet place of love.  Please know that I appreciate every single gesture as a little act of love. Thank you for finding sweet ways to make me feel special..

I love you more today than I did yesterday, and it continues to grow year on year.
