They want to feel perfectly safe with someone, and there's nothing more endearing to a woman than feeling protected.
Perhaps on a first date you can take her to do something exciting, i.e. indoor sky diving, or to a theme park with really scary roller-coasters, or to a very lesser extent, a scary horror movie.
Wait for an appropriate time and mood to tell her that "you're safe with me". Do this subtly, not like you had it planned.
When I mentioned security, I meant financially. It's a hard truth that being secure financially is a major requisite of commitment for a woman.
Especially as we get further into the information age. I personally know many women that will not even consider going on a date with a man that doesn't have steady employment and a solid direction in life.
Although this is more anecdotal evidence, I highly doubt that it's just mere coincidence.
For me personally when the tables are reversed, I would rather be involved with a woman that had a steady career, with her own life, doing her own things.
It's just so much more attractive in my eyes. An articulate and gorgeous woman that can also pick up a check is sexy to me.
However, you will do well to keep in mind that not all women are alike, therefore not all women can be painted with the same brush, in a sense. This also includes a mental and emotional stability.
Women need to feel a sense of security, emotional safety, a mutual respect, and stability in a relationship. This is of course only if the woman in question is ready for a serious commitment.
Women that are still playing the field and currently in the dating phase will not necessarily require any of these male attributes.
So, if you're looking for the right woman to settle down with, work on possessing and displaying these three traits women look for in men.
