Prince of Wales reopens on May 15th under new management

From 4pm on Tuesday, May 15th, the Prince of Wales pub on Gloucester Road will reopen under brand new Management.

Earlier this year, former landlady Anna Gorman lost a legal battle with the building’s owners, Enterprise Inns, who ousted her from her position in favour of staff from the brand’s own Bermondsey Pub Company.

It’s going to be interesting to see what the pub is like under management from the Bermondsey Pub Company and new manager David (pictured) – and whether the community feel and independent spirit will be retained.

The team say that there’s been a bit of a facelift, but promise nothing drastic. The food menu is fairly generic chain pub grub, while on the drinks front, we’ve spied ciders from Sheppy’s, Thatchers, Celtic Marches and Orchard Pig in their social media feeds, with beery choices including Moretti, Maltsmiths IPA and Dorset Knob.

“A lively boozer in Bristol with crafty drinks and tasty food to mop it all up”, promises the blurb on their website. But will it live up to the reputation its former management honed over the course of their 15-year tenure…?
