Kane and Abel by Jeffrey Archer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
A very good read spanning the growth of two men, born in two different countries, to parents in diametrically opposite financial situations. Kane is part of an American banking family, born as the saying goes, with a silver spoon in his mouth. Abel is Polish. He undergoes a desperate start to his childhood and through many privations he ends up in America.
The two grow to manhood and their lives cross, but Archer weaves a magnificent plot during the process. This is the first book by Jeffrey Archer that I have read. On the strength of the quality of Archer's writing I now have five more of his books on my shelf to read. I think that speaks for my opinion of Kane and Abel. Highly recommended!
