Mahabharata, The epic of ancient India, has came as a TV serial which was huge hit and unforgettable, It has remained one of the most adapted, recounted and interpreted tales of all time. But Now it is getting ‘Grand’.

UAE-based Indian businessman Bavaguthu Raghuram ShettyKnow More About Him , is pumping in Rs. 1,000 crore to produce India’s biggest ever motion picture, ‘The Mahabharata’.

The movie will be directed by ad filmmaker VA Shrikumar Menon, and will be produced in two parts, the shoot begins in September 2018 and the Film is expected to release in early 2020.

The film will be shot in English, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu and dubbed in major Indian and foreign languages, entrepreneur and billionaire Bavaguthu Raghuram Shetty’s company said.

“This film will have an identity across continents,” the announcement said, adding that Mr Shetty, Founder and Chairman of UAE Exchange and NMC Healthcare, has been a keen supporter of Indian arts and culture. It will be a true ‘Make in India’ product which aspires to highlight India’s spectacular mythological storytelling, it said.

The film will be a coming together of the crème de la crème of Indian and global cinema in terms of its cast and crew. The technical crew would include some of the great names in the world cinema including some academy winners. The cast will have the best of talents from Indian cinema as well as some big names from Hollywood. This film will have an identity across continents, with their representatives donning the myriad characters in ‘The Mahabharata’! A global team led by an internationally renowned casting director will handpick the cast.
