This book was so revolutionary, it was banned in prisons across the United States for fear of a Black uprising.

Prosecution has been used as a weapon of white supremacy since slavery and colonialism. But from 1978 to 2014, the prison population in the United States exploded by 408%!

This was not an accident, but was the result of a political strategy designed to reverse the gains of the Civil Rights Movement.

Listening to this audiobook will help you understand the origins of the system of mass incarceration, how prosecution was used to destroy the Black community, and how all of us are at now risk of becoming victims of the system!

When Baba Dick Gregory made his transition on August 19, 2017, he left behind dozens of books, thousands of hours of lectures, and millions of followers.

Reading Between the Lies looks at Black life with Baba Gregory’s insightful commentary on history of the African American people. He reveals the truth behind what happened during the most iconic events of the struggle, from the people who were there.

Think about it. White folks try to say that if Rosa [Parks] hadn’t been too tired to get up from her seat that day, none of it would ever have happened — everything that sparked the civil rights movement. That’s what we let historians get away with.

I said to her, “Tell me. You tell me what happened.”

And when she did, she caught me by surprise. She sounded almost like she was in a trance: “I just couldn’t get Emmett Till off my mind,” she said. – Exerpt from Defining Moments in Black History: Reading Between the Lies

This audiobook is an essential, no-holds-barred history lesson that will provoke, enlighten, and entertain you. The format of the book makes it perfect for listening, too.

This audiobook will scare the shit out of you. I do not suggest listening to this on a car ride with your seeds.

You have been warned!

J Marion Simms – called the Father of Modern Gynecology – experimented on Black women in gruesome ways that are exposed in this audiobook.

Here are just a few things you will learn from this audio book

  • The forced sterilization of black women (what civil rights activist Fannie Lou Hamer plaintively called her “Mississippi appendectomy”) got its start during slavery, but has persisted in less overt forms in recent years.
  • In the 1980s Blacks were intentionally left out of potentially life-saving anti HIV drugs. When those drugs came into widespread use in 1991, the Food and Drug Administration lied by saying that those drugs were not effective for Black patients. If more Blacks had been given access, one wonders if the number of HIV-infected African Americans be lower today.
  • The Tuskegee Experiment was just one of hundreds of incidents where Black patients were exposed to disease intentionally to study the effects of that disease

Again, Medical Apartheid will scare the hell out of you, but when we become aware of the weapons that have been used against us in the past we can protect ourselves in the future!

The Stolen Legacy: Greek Philosophy Is Stolen Egyptian Philosophy

No one should be allowed to teach African history who has not listened to the Stolen Legacy audiobook.

I will take it a step further and say that no members of the movement can call themselves educated if they haven’t listened to this audiobook. Thats how important Stolen Legacy is!

This book will teach you the truth about so-called Greek philosophy which, to begin with is a misnomer, for there is no such philosophy in existence.

You will also learn about the complex Kemetic (Egyptian) religious system, called the Mysteries, which was also the first system of salvation in history.

This book was so important that we developed a full 6 week course on the subject. Make this audiobook your first purchase!

Dr. Dennis Kimbro created this masterpiece to answer one question: How can impoverished black Americans pull themselves out of their poverty and reach their full potential?

To answer that question, he went on a cross-country tour in the United States to interview America’s most notable achievers from Spike Lee to Oprah Winfrey.

This audiobook contains the laws of success that he discovered along with lessons learned from the Napoleon Hill classic Think And Grow Rich. Those laws of wealth include:

1st Law of Wealth: Wealth begins in the mind but ends in the purse
2nd Law of Wealth: Decide that you will not be poor
3rd Law of Wealth: Believe in thyself when no one else will
4th Law of Wealth: To thine own self be true; find your unique gifts
5th Law of Wealth: How may I serve thee?
6th Law of Wealth: Thou shall own thy own business
7th Law of Wealth: Make Thy Money Grow

No list of Black audiobooks would be complete without something from Dr. Carter G. Woodson!
This book should to be required reading for every teacher, educator, administrator, and parent of children of African descent.

Carter G Woodson’s work will help you understand how the weapon of white supremacy known as miseducation works.

This miseducation creates a serious identity crisis on the part of African youth and it causes many Black “educated” middle class people to spend more time trying to reach the so-called American Dream rather than working toward a real self-determination agenda of African peoples.

As is written in the book “If you control a man’s thinking you do not have to worry about his action.”

Anyone who has read this book will agree that this can be a challenging book to get through, so save yourself some time and frustration. Click here to listen to The Mis-Education of the Negro Audiobook

I cant tell you how happy I was to find the audiobook version of the Destruction of Black Civilization and here is why: This is one of the most important books in Black consciousness. But its also a challenge to get through.

The audiobook version is excellent for those who are not the strongest readers but still need the knowledge contained in this important scroll.

Chancellor Williams – the author – was one of the greatest minds in Black history. His masterpiece will help you understand how the African Diaspora found itself at the mercy of white supremacy.

Dr. Williams brings the lessons of a lifetime of study to his work, and puts Black history into today’s context better than any other book I have ever read.

Not only that, in the closing sections, he gives us a plan for nation building and activism that all of us should be following.

If you ask most members of the community what they think the most important of all Black Consciousness books is, this is the one they would name.
