The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Wednesday named Bengkulu Governor Ridwan Mukti and his wife Lily Maddari suspects in a bribery case pertaining to infrastructure projects in the province.
Ridwan allegedly received Rp 1 billion (US$ 75,000) in bribes from PT Statika Mitra Sarana to rig the tender for two road development projects in Rejang Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province, KPK deputy chairman Alexander Marwata said.
“After 24 hours of questioning, it could be concluded there was a suspected promised fee received by the Bengkulu Governor related to the projects,” Alexander told a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday.
