Theresa May’s Last Best Brexit Deal Rejected by Parliament

Having rejected a previous Brexit Deal, the British Parliament voted today on a ‘tweeked’ version that British PM Theresa May had negotiated with the European Union. Parliament rejected the deal 391 — 242.

There will be another vote in Parliament on whether the UK should exit the EU with no deal — the so-called “Hard Brexit”. If the MPs reject that, then they will vote on whether Brexit should be delayed.

If Brexit is delayed, the EU will want to know what the point would be. In turn that would put enormous pressure on May to allow another Brexit vote – which polls indicate would produce a ‘remain’ result.

As the British would say “it’s a dog’s dinner” or “a complete cockup”.
