Elon Musk Tesla CEO Emailed Staff Alleging Employee ‘Sabotage’

Tesla President Elon Musk stated on Monday in an email to staff that an unnamed Tesla staff member had performed “substantial and harmful sabotage” to the business’s operations including supposedly making unspecified code modifications to its production running system and sending what the email stated was delicate Tesla information to unnamed 3rd parties.

Business spokesperson Gina Antonini decreased to talk about the e-mail.

Musk stated in the e-mail, which was seen by Reuters, that he learnt more about this alleged behaviour over the weekend.

” The complete level of his actions are not yet clear, but what he has actually admitted to up until now is pretty bad,” Musk wrote. “His mentioned motivation is that he desired a promotion that he did not receive.” Musk did not define to whom he was referring.

Reuters could not separately validate any of the claims in the e-mail.

Musk wrote that the business would be investigating the matter today, adding that Tesla needed to figure out if the individual was acting alone or in concert with “any outdoors organisations.”

” As you understand, there are a long list of organisations that want Tesla to die,” Musk composed, saying they consisted of Wall Street short-sellers, oil and gas companies, and cars and truck company rivals but naming none.

Earlier on Monday, Musk sent a different e-mail to staff members notifying them of a “small fire” on Sunday at a company facility. The email was seen by Reuters.

Tesla said in an e-mail that on Sunday night there had been a “smouldering in an air filter in the welding area of the body line. The smouldering was snuffed out immediately. There were no injuries or significant equipment damage, and production is back online.” The business did not specify the place of the fire, which Reuters was unable to separately validate.

Musk stated in the e-mail that while the fire might have been a random event, “Please be on the alert for anything that’s not in the very best interests of our business.”

Last week, Musk announced that 9 percent of the business’s workforce was being laid off, without defining a precise number.

Musk said the reorganisation did not affect per hour assembly-line workers and was not expected to delay producing targets.

Tesla’s future long-lasting profitability hinges on increase Model 3 output, which is intended for mass production.

Tesla’s stock rate slipped 53 cents to $370.30 in after-hours trading on Monday.
