Tertiary Institutions of Learning in the Country have been urged to Shun Corruption in their Institutions.

The Adamawa State  Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Barrister BSD Sanga   made the call at a Seminar on Zero Tolerance for Corruption in Tertiary  Institutions of Learning held at the Multi purpose Hall of the Adamawa State  University, Mubi recently. 

While  presenting a  paper entitled "The Role of Judiciary in Minimising Corruption in Tertiary Institutions ", BSD Sanga said, Adamawa State Government  has put in place  an Anti Corruption  strategy Document with a  provision on only moneys budgeted for are being spent  under the leadership of Governor Muhammad Umar Jibrilla. 

According to him, Adamawa State University Mubi needs  a procurement  Department that will guide   financial Rules and Regulations or strict adherence for better implementation of such Laws as against Adamawa State  Anti Corruption strategy in order to tackling  corrupt practices in Tertiary Institutions. 

In a good  will message, the  Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Information and Strategy,  Comrade Ahmad Ibrahim Sajoh stated that  fighting corruption  is a  collective responsibility for  both staff and students in order to protect the good  image of the  University. 

Sajoh said Corruption  has became a  cancarworm  among Tertiary Institutions of Learning in the Country and called for  all to join  hands in the  fight against corruption. 

However,  about  Six  Papers were presented at the  2day Seminar which  includes ; The Role of Judiciary in Minimising Corruption in Tertiary Institutions by the  State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Barrister BSD Sanga, Anti Corruption  War in  Tertiary Institutions by the  State Commissioner  of  I C P C Yola,  Minimizing Corruption in the  Procurement  Process in Tertiary Institutions by the Director General, Bureau  for Public  Procurement, Code of Conduct in Tertiary Institutions  by the State Director, Code of  Conduct Bureau, Yola,   Work Ethics in Tertiary Institutions by Professor  Haruna  Dr.  Dlakwa of University of  Maiduguri, and Instilling Moral  Values as a Measure for Reducing Corrupt  Practices in Tertiary Institutions  by Dr. S .T. Umar of the ADSU, Mubi .

The Seminar was tagged : 
"Zero Tolerance for Corruption in Tertiary Institutions of Learning  is to create awareness among the  Staff and Students so as to  maintain the high  level of  respect owed by the  University".
