As Congress President Rahul Gandhi Turns 48 today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings and wished him a long and healthy life on twitter. PM Modi said in a tweet…”I pray for his long and healthy life.” This is Rahul’s first birthday since he took charge of the Congress party on December 11, 2017.

His tweets taking on the Prime Minister have been sarcastic as the two have targeted each other in election campaigns over the past few months.

The PM’s birthday message was posted hours after Rahul Gandhi targeted the Prime Minister over Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s protest at the Lieutenant Governor’s home in Delhi.

Last year, Rahul Gandhi celebrated  his birthday with his 93-year-old grandmother who lives in Paola Maino, Italy.

The Congress workers today were also seen celebrating Rahul’s birthday outside party’s headquarters in Delhi. Posters of Rahul were also put up outside the headquarters and drums were played to celebrate his day.

Meanwhile, a rebel Congress leader from Maharashtra, Shehzad Poonawalla, claimed the Congress’s organisational election was “rigged”, and said the “unconstitutional and illegal” polls would be challenged “from Delhi to Amethi”.

Happy Birthday Rahul Gandhi ji! As you near half a century, I pray for your long life and hope in 2019 you can pursue a profession which your heart really intends to pursue, rather than a job you have been forced to take up, Poonawalla tweeted,  PTI reported.
