The Death Penalty Let's say for a moment that a person believes that life is sacred. Believing this they would not want to take another's life even at the cost of their own. Shouldn't a victim of murder have a last right that the taking of their life would not cost another? They would want a Last Will option that in the event of their murder a life sentence would be imposed instead of the death penalty and that the courts would honor this. A life sentence of learning about a victims life and what it meant to the people around them, of the chance that if the wrong person was jailed that someday the truth will come out, and a chance that the guilty can atone by doing good works in the place of the good they would have brought to the world, making it a better place for future generations. Does this make good sense? Would you want this option?
