A River, a Great Blue Heron, and a Church

In my last post, I talked about my summer photography goal, and I am proud to say that I have completed that goal of getting a picture of a Great Blue Heron, but before I talk about that I want to talk about the first Photo in this post.  The first photo is of the Thames River just north of St. Marys. There use to be a bridge crossing the river but the bridge was taken down and now it makes for a really nice spot to take photos at. I want to try to get a sunset photo at this location. The next two photos are of a Great Blue Heron. I was showing my girlfriend around Stratford and we saw one down at the river, but I didn't have my camera on me at the moment. We went back to the house picked up the camera and then went back to the spot where we saw the bird. The bird wasn't there so we went up to a pedestrian bridge and we found the bird on the other side. The first photo is of it just sitting on a log probably looking for food or just resting and the next photo is of it in flight. I had used a shutter speed of 2000 for the photo in flight. The last photo is just of a church out in the country. I find that rural churches are often the best churches to look at and photograph. Since I have completed my summer photography goal I want to set a new one for either and owl or a fox.
