Flowers of Springtime

Springtime well underway.  Flowers are out and it's a perfect time for flower photography.  Some of the early flowers have faded but the mid-season flowers are out.  Since it's such a great time for flower photography, we decided to pull out the camera for some photos.  Check out what we captured this year.

Tulips.  One of the flowers which have been out lately are the tulips.  While they are fading away for the year, they can still be found if you know where to go.  We found just such a place.  Since we felt like taking photos, we sought out this location and brought the camera along.

It was great to pull out the new macro lens and get some beautiful flowers in front of my lens.  The trouble was that the wind was back.  My nemesis for close-up flower photography got in my way again.  It spoils so many a promising photo.  However, not every photo is lost when the wind kicks up as you can see from the photo above.

I also decided that I wanted to try for some architecture in frame with the flowers.  I knew just the right place for getting such a shot.  I sought out the Idaho Falls temple.

It has just the right elements for the photo I was hoping for.  It has interesting and rather unique architecture, a waterfall fountain in front, and a flower bed full of seasonal flowers positioned just right for a springtime shot.

Thanks to the inclement weather lately, the light has been just right if I could avoid the rain, hail, and lightning on the road there.  Everything was just right for a springtime shot of the Idaho Falls temple with the flowers still blooming in front.

This year has been a great beginning for landscape and nature photography.  My portfolio is continuing to expand.  Keep checking back to see what else I've captured lately because there's more to come.
