The base station of the Gornergrat Rack railway in Zermatt, Switzerland, is situated at 1,634 Meters of altitude.
With a maximum inclination of 200 per thousand, the railway covers a 1,456 meter drop
It runs through the Alpine heart of the Swiss and Italian Alps: 29 peaks piercing the sky above 4,000 meters are visible through the panoramic windows
