We are expanding our repertoire at The Daily Sunrise and here is one of the items we plan to have on the menu soon
Orange Whipped Cream
Need a special Whipped Cream and you are out of ideas? Why not an orange whipped cream? It can be ready in around 5 minutes and is really extraordinary, to be tasted alone or in combination with various pastries, ice creams and fruit salads. This one will work well with the cream chargers and we think that it’ll go down well with our super-strong double espresso. We’ll be serving the coffee alone, but with a saucer by the idea, then all it’ll take will be for the customer to click their fingers and one of us will rush on over to spread the love with the cream chargers and give everyone a citrus treat.
Ingredients
3 cups whipping cream
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tbs. orange flavor
2 tbs. orange zest
Method
The cream should be whipped for a couple of minutes, until it turns into soft peaks. After 1 minute, you need to add the flavor, the orange zest and the sugar and go further with the whipping. In 5 minutes your cream is ready to be tasted.
Notes
If you want to use grapefruit instead of orange, you need to almost double the quantity of sugar. Some caramel can also match this whipped cream.
If you want to have a sweeter whipped cream, you can also use honey. Both brown and white sugar is recommended.
You can also add 1 tbs. lemon zest.
For those interested in an even more special taste, add some vanilla flavor.
If you are waiting only for adult guests, you can also add some drops of amaretto liquor.
The cream charges might actually get blocked if the zest is too coarse, so use a fine grater rather than a cut’n’peel zester – even though we’d normally use one of those ourselves.
