Photo Nuts and Post: Steps to Effective Post-Processing

Tags: photo

Before this past week, I have never done post-processing of my photos beyond simple tasks.  I limited myself to cropping, rotation and exposure.  The Photo editing software I use is much more capable, but I had not learned to use these capabilities effectively.

Training books and programs I have tried in the past were either too complicated or required too much of a time investment.  You see, I have a son who is an expert at post-processing photos.  It was easy to get the work done when it was required.  But when he gets his hands on one of my photos, his enhancements show post-processing can make a significant difference.

This week I am building those skills.  The Digital Photography School released a new ebook called Photo Nuts and Post.  I immediately purchased a copy as soon as I learned it was available because I have found their training resources some of the best for the price.

The ebook discusses the workflow to walk through in order to determine which photos to process, which to delete, what metadata to modify and how to name the files with a powerful file-naming convention.  It describes many of the processing techniques with when and how you would use them.  Today I am improving some event photos by using the noise reduction and sharpness tools based on the description in the ebook.

The most powerful aspects of Photo Nuts and Post are that:

  • It contains many types of photos and visually shows how they are processed step-by-step
  • It describes the most common issues and how to overcome them

If you are already proficient in using photo post-processing, this ebook may not be for you unless you are wanting to reinforce the basics.  However, if you shy from using many of the processing tools because you don’t know how to use them, I highly recommend this ebook.

Internet Marketing Success: Training Yourself For Success

If you want to be a successful Internet marketer, you need to be creative. But in order to be creative, you need to first believe that you are creative. If you tell yourself that you are not creative, then you won’t be because you’ve convinced yourself that you don’t “have a creative bone in your body”. But training yourself to be creative is no different from training yourself to do anything.

Internet Marketing Success: Self Discipline

While many people consider self- discipline as punishment, Webster’s definition of self-discipline is “Correction or regulation of oneself for the sake of improvement”. The difference between someone that’s successful and someone that isn’t, is that someone that is successful takes action immediately while unsuccessful people tend to procrastinate and avoid what needs to be done.
