Oppo Find X is a brand new flagship phone from the Chinese ]company, Oppo. It went on its first sale in China on 14 July and sold a record number of phones both online and offline. The OPPO Find X reportedly broke all the sales records on major Chinese major e-commerce platforms of Jingdong, Tmall, and Suning Tesco. Over 10,000  units were sold under 47 seconds which led to the amount increasing to about $14.98 million in just 15 minutes. The amount is on a rapid growth still as people are in queues to get their hands on the device in offline stores.

Design

The Oppo Find X has an aluminium frame and a display screen with ~401 PPI density and about 87% screen-to-body ratio. It has an AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 16M colours and multitouch support. The device weights 186grams. The display screen is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The phone comes in two color variants – Bordeaux Red and Glacier Blue.

Processor and Storage

Oppo Find X comes installed with Android 8.0 (Oreo). It has an Octa-core (2.649 GHz, Quad core, Kryo 385 1.766 GHz, Quad core, Kryo 385) processor and 3,730 mAh battery to power it. It comes with two variants with internal storages of 126 GB and 256 GB, both having an 8GB RAM.

Camera

It comes with a pop-up Camera similar to that of Vivo Nex which has a dual primary camera of 16 MP + 20 MP and a whopping 25 MP secondary camera. However, the major difference here is that the Oppo Find X hides both the selfie camera and the rear camera setup, while the Vivo Nex hides only the former. It can record videos of the resolutions: 2160p@30fps, 1080p@240fps and 720p@480fps. Both the front and back modules are hidden under the motorized slider that opens and closes whenever the camera app is triggered.

The Oppo Find X also supports NFC. It has USB 2.0 and Type-C 1.0 reversible connector. It doesn’t have a fingerprint sensor, only a Face ID support. Oppo claims that its new O-Face recognition technology is 20 times safer than fingerprint recognition. O-Face recognition technology uses 3D structured light and 15,000 dot projections to scan the user’s face.

Availability in India

Oppo Find X price in India has been set at Rs. 59,990 for the 8GB of RAM and 256GB inbuilt storage variant. The phone will be available for pre-orders starting from July 25, with sales beginning from August 3. A Rs. 3,000 Flipkart voucher will be given to those who pre-order it on Flipkart. It will become available via offline channels soon after.
