Recently, a shocking video has surfaced on Facebook, where two Dog Catchers could be seen dragging a dog by a rope around its neck. The video has gone viral on the social media as the dog was strangled to death while it was being dragged by the dog catchers. The video was shot at Vellore Institute of Technology campus in Chennai.

What happened exactly?

In the video, two men from the Tambaram municipality could be seen dragging a black dog down the stairs to their van. A rope was tied tight around its neck. The men holding the ropes show no mercy. They continue to drag the dog and later due to asphyxiation, the dog collapsed and died.

The dog died before the men reached the van. The locals said that the two men worked in the Tambaram municipality in Chennai as part of the dog catching squad.

Dawn William from the Blue Cross filed a police complaint against the campus and the municipality. In the complaint, he asked…

“What made them come there we don’t know…We understand they caught eleven dogs this way. They are not saying where they buried the dog,” he said, reported NDTV.

The Kancheepuram police are investigating the matter.
