The Maine Coon Kitten

Maine Coon kitten, Unison soft pastel on Clairefontaine Pastlemat,  24x30cm.

This pastel sketch was of a beautiful kitten on Facebook (with permission of course).

Notice how the eyes of a kitten are closer together – in proportion to the face – and the ears larger – than an adult cat.  I tried here to emphasise how the long fur clumps together around the neck.  The Maine coon breed always has this almost ‘superior’ look to it, as if the cat is looking down its nose at you !
