Every day life for our Basset hounds!

Hello again, today I will be talking about what happens every day for our Basset hounds. Since I am in college, my dad works,  and both my siblings are in secondary school, it is up to my mom to look after the pups for the majority of the week. Many things can happen during this time. Ever since the puppies were born, looking after them has been very time-consuming and laborious. We do love the dogs very much and they love us but sometimes they can get out of control. Like any Dog when they are young.

The day has just begun for our Basset hound puppies….

The day starts off with my dad and I leaving to go to college (me), and my dad to work. About an hour later, my mom would drop off my siblings to secondary school. Each of us in our family has a designated job in terms of helping with the dogs every day. For example: I feed them their dinner and I go on walks with them most nights, my brother feeds them their breakfast and cleans up after them. My sister also brings them on walks, brushes them and washes them- we all lend a hand I that situation.

So, when my dad and I leave every morning, my brother then feeds the dogs. Once my siblings are at school, my mom comes back to let the puppies and Honey out for most of the day.  They usually just sniff around the place and growl and play with each other.

As time goes by for our Basset hounds…

Once lunch comes, the dogs usually expect to get some raw chicken. They absolutely love it! They  are very entertaining dogs! If there is any sun at all outside, they go to it and sunbathe. They are like magnets to the sun. Honey is particularly excellent at finding a good spot to sunbathe in. The odd time, like yesterday actually, they were all sunbathing together. It was adorable! I have significantly more time now that I am in college and so I get to spend a lot more time with my dogs.

Here are Buzzy and Bumble chilling out after a busy day with me

Then comes the afternoon for our Basset hounds…

It is around two/three o’clock when Honey and her puppies get a little bit bored. So, they start to play with each other and fight, things like that. Buzzy is particularly enthusiastic when it comes to playing with his brother and mother. For some reason, both Honey and Bumble see to get some sort of fun out of making Buzzy the one who they chase around and play-attack. Sometimes it looks as if Buzzy has had enough as he would grab his mother by the ear and growl . He has done similar things to Bumble. They also love to do this thing where they run around the garden like complete idiots. We gave this a name as it seems to fit the description. We call this idiotic looking fun run thing the dogs do: Cracker-dog. I think the name is clever. It is hard to picture this image in one’s mind, unfortunately I have never been able to catch the dogs doing this whenever I have my phone with me.  My siblings are back home from school around four o’clock, and I arrive back home with my dad around seven o’clock. The dogs are then brought back in from the garden

And then it was evening time..

Once the clock strikes eight o’clock, the dogs jump out of bed and are ready to go on a walk. Since it is super dark at night now, we have to bring a flashlight with us. We usually go on a fourty-fifty minute walk. I feed them their dinner once we get back and then the go to sleep once again. Night dogs!!

Time to finish up I’m afraid my lovely readers! Please feel free to like and comment and share my blog posts!!!! Thanks for reading.
