4 Habits To Start Your Day Right

This post, we look at the 4 habits to start your day right. Starting your day right has many benefits, including higher energy levels, more creativity, more productivity and more alertness. I am still trying to build on these 4 habits myself and I hope that these habits will serve you well. These are habits I realized have benefited my life, and help make me more ready to face life’s challenges for the day.

4 Habits to Start Your Day Right

The habits recommended here are just a guideline and I hope they will serve you well. I have adopted these habits after researching multiple billionaires on how they start their day. The usual path of their Morning follows this pattern: exercise and bathe, read news, learn and eat Breakfast.

1. Exercise and Bathe

It has been proven by science that exercising in the morning boosts your metabolism rate and makes you more alert for the rest of the morning. It is said that it is best to get up before the sky is bright, and carry out some light training, have a good sweat and wash off the fatigue with a cool bath. For me, I alternate between three different forms of exercises ranging from strength training (intervals and push ups, sit ups and pull ups), to stamina training (long run) to toning exercises (skipping).

2. Read News

Reading news every single morning gives you an awareness of current affairs in the world. It hones your understanding of geopolitical happenings around the world, which helps to increase your knowledge of the world. This additional knowledge, when built day in and day out allows you to internalize an abstract and incisive mind, which can be further enhanced by being genuinely curious about what is happening in the world today.

3. Learn

I like to learn something new for 30 minutes to an hour in the morning. This helps me to keep my mind sharp. Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella is said to have done the same on occasions. I feel like this routine opens my mind to new possibilities. I am currently learning software engineering and quantitative financial modeling and I hope to utilize these skills to better benefit the community around me some day.

4. Eat Your Breakfast

Do not ever underestimate the importance of breakfast. Breakfast has been proven to be one of the most important meal of the day. Get the necessary energy from breakfast and use that to push you on day after day. I always advocate a fuller breakfast, and you do not have to worry about putting on weight if you eat it within two hours after your exercise (as long as its your average serving, not double or triple :)).
