Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique!

If you have a little girl who loves all things, princess, this is the place. The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique takes children the age of 3-12.  Mostly it is all girls but they do offer boys to join the fun and they can become princes.  Once you know your dates of when you are going to be at the park, book your appointment.  We went in September and I booked the boutique almost 3 months in advance and the earliest appointment I was able to get was at 2:25 p.m. We were going to the Magic Kingdom on a Monday. So it was not even a “busy” day.  As with anything you want to do in Disney you have to plan in advance. The earlier the better!

To make reservations you have to call (407) 939-7895You will be required to have a credit card on file for your reservation and if you do not show up or cancel within 24 hours, a $10 fee will be charged to your card. The boutique does not have online reservations capability.  There are two locations: one is inside Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom park and the other is at the Once Upon a Toy store in Disney Springs Marketplace.  We went to Cinderella’s Castle as we were going to Magic Kingdom and the most convenient.

When you make your reservation they ask which boutique package you would like (you can change the package day of).  We went the full monty and chose the Castle Package.  You can totally save some money and bring your own princess dress to change into and just get one of the other packages.  For my daughter’s first experience we wanted the whole sha bang!

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Arrival:

When you arrive, you are greeted by “Fairy Godmothers”.  They refer to all the girls as Princesses. If you have the Castle package, they show you the collection of Princess gowns they have available.  After you pick what princess gown you want or (if you brought your own) you hand it off to a fairy godmother. Sofia picked Princess Elena.  Once they are ready for you, your child’s name will be announced as “Princess…..” and they escort you back to a dressing room.

The Fairy Godmother will ask your child if she knows the magic words to say, which of course are Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo! After you say the magic words, with dramatic flare they pull back the drapes to the dressing room, where everything is hung up and laid out for them to change.  After your child is in her Princess attire, you are then taken to a hair and makeup station where her personal Fairy Godmother is ready to transform them into a Princess.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Hairstyles:

Next is the picking the Princess hairstyle.  You have 4 choices: Disney Diva, Fairytale Princess or Color Star (Long or Short).  This part of the experience I was a little nervous about.  My daughter has some sensory issues and really does not like having her hair brushed, braided or put up in ponytails.  I brought in the park her hairbrush and detangler spray (among other necessities).  Before we went into the Boutique, I made sure there were no tangles and brushed out her hair.  Surprisingly, Sofia picked the Color Stay short look. She never lets me braid her hair but I am not a Fairy Godmother, so that could be the problem. The Color Stay hairstyle has colored clip-in extensions (she picked pink and blue) to make side braids that meet in the back. It’s a super cute look.

On to what I called the fairy godmother magic!!  Somehow Sofia’s Fairy Godmother got her to stay still, have her hair done, make-up applied, nails painted and then finally be sprinkled with fairy dust! Total Magic! She absolutely loved it and still talks about her experience as a Princess. You could see that Sofia truly felt like and believed she was a princess.  Aside from meeting Winnie the Pooh, this was one of her most favorite moments of all time.

When her fairy godmother was all done with the Princess makeover, she presented Sofia with a little pink jewelry box and had Sofia say “Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo”.  She then took a little wand and tapped on the box. They really stay in character and go all out for the magical experience!  Inside was a pink pumpkin on a silver chain with crystals in the center.  Adorable!  Lastly, they put all the makeup, nail polish, comb etc. in a very nice cinch backpack with the Boutique’s name on it in gold.  Totally can reuse this bag for over nights at the grandparents!

The entire make over took about 45 minutes and even though it was pricey, I thought it was totally worth it.  Each part of the experience was over the top and perfect for a little girl. She wore her gown the entire night and slept in her braids. I was able to successfully wash out all the sparkle spray with just her regular shampoo.

Some additional tips for the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique:

  • Arrive about 10-15 minutes prior to your appointment time.
  • Make sure you arrive with clean hair and nails, no product on hair. Bring a brush to the park and brush prior.
  • Bring some cash to tip your Fairy Godmother. They deserve it!
  • As with any Disney trip, I would purchase Memory Maker.  This ensures that you have plenty of pictures to go with all those magical memories.
  • Bring shoes that you want to wear with the dress.
