Mum truths #6 with Home with Mrs Harvey

Hello there! And welcome to this week’s edition of Mum Truths, where mums talk about the life of a mum just how it is.  Today I’m delighted to have Sara who blogs over on Home with Mrs Harvey with her mum truths….take it away Sara!

****

I am Sara, 28 year old stay at home mother of 3 from Surrey and blogger. I have two sons Tyler and Jaxon, who are 8 and 14 months old, and one daughter Sophie (or Tallulah at home) who is 5. I run a parenting blog – Home with Mrs Harvey –  where I talk about everything that’s going on with my family and all things relevant to us. Mum stuff, family day’s out, “day in the life posts” and honest opinions and reviews! I love to plan and I love a bargain so there will be a fair few “checklist posts” and “looking forward to’s”. We are already planning for our year ahead and hope to make 2017 the best one yet!

Sum up being a mum in five words….

Crazy, Adventurous, Testing, Rewarding and Teaching.

What did you wish you knew before having children?

That time will go by in the blink of an eye!

What has been the hardest thing in motherhood for you?

Time management is definitely my downfall. IF I managed my time properly and stopped procrastinating and daydreaming we would get a lot more done in a day!

When things get tough in motherhood you……

Breathe, put the kettle on (that’s my forte) and remember that everything is a lesson in life.

What do you feel guilty about as mum?

Absolutely everything! Mum Guilt is the worst! Feel guilty about doing things alone, spending money on yourself, spending too much time on social media, eating that treat in secret so I don’t have to share!

When was the last time you lost your s*** at your child/children?

Last week when I had told my daughter atleast 8 times to mind the baby’s fingers but she still managed to trap them causing him to scream at the top of his lungs.. I really told her off…and guess what? 10 minutes later that mum guilt set in again and I felt bad!

What makes you feel bad as a mum?

Not having enough hours in the day to give each child my undivided attention.

And what makes you feel good as a mum?

Seeing my children smile, making lovely memories, the best feeling is when they have had a good dinner, a lovely bath and fresh pjs and are all cozy in bed and you think “I did that! I made those beautiful beings!”

The universal sods law of being a mum is…..

as soon as your bum hits that chair someone will shout “MUUUUUUM!!?”

What is the greatest lesson being a mum has taught you?

Being a mother has taught me self confidence and self belief, things that I wouldn’t have found anywhere else. I believe in myself as a Mum and therefore believe in myself as a person. When you are a mum, you can conquer anything!
