Natural Floor Cleaner

I’ll admit that I’ve always liked the smell of bleach. Because if something has been bleached, that means it’s clean. I try really hard not to think of why bleach was needed, but that end result, while it makes others’ eyes sting, was a smell I actually liked.

And sometimes, you really NEED bleach.

But apparently those fumes that I associate with clean can actually be harmful for your health. So, while I’m still keeping some bleach on hand, I do want to try more natural cleaners and limit the chemicals I’m using in our home. So, I asked the ladies in my yoga class for a natural Floor cleaner and this was a favorite Floor Cleaner recipe.

I have to admit that I’m still hesitant to use the vinegar on my wood floors because there seems to be a little bit of difference of opinion as to whether you should use it as a wood floor cleaner or not, though this is diluted enough that some claim it would be okay… and I may get brave and attempt this at some point, but for now I am using this natural floor cleaner on my bathroom floors and the kitchen floor (and spraying the tubs and some counters as I go). You could mix this up in a bucket or put it in the attachment tank on your mop if it has one, but for now I put it in a spray bottle and just spray and wipe with a sponge as I go since I’m using it on the floors of smaller rooms.
