Trip to the Drive-in Theater Results in Bigfoot Sighting

Today I want to share an old bigfoot sighting report with everyone. This brings back memories from when I was just a small boy and we would go to the drive-in. We seemed to always stop and get our windshield cleaned real good at some gas station before the show. We'd drive in and park, then someone would dash out to the concession stand for some popcorn and drinks. It was a fun and rememorable experience. Sadly about all of our drive-in theaters are just a thing of the past. But there are a few still in operation, if you can find them.

While going to the drive-in is a memory that will stick with you, it was a memory that was overshadowed one evening for two men in West Virginia.

This encounter took place on August 17,1976 as Ronald Stark and Clifford Barnes drove to the drive in theater. This took place in Braxton county,WV.

Late that evening, the two men drove off of Interstate 79 at Skin Creek onto a road the led to Weston Drive-in Theater. While on that road, they encountered an apelike creature that was huge, black, crouched down. As they approached, the creature stood straight up to a height of approximately 8 foot. The creature remained in the middle of the road for approximately 30 seconds The unknown figure just kept looking at the men during this time. Next the apelike figure walked off into the woods.

According to the report the Sheriff's Department was called but I do not know the outcome of that call or if there was any type of investigation. Also no word as to if the two men actually made it to the movie.

Braxton county may be familiar to some of you, as it is also home to the mysterious case of the Flatwoods monster sightings that took place in the early 1950's. Maybe there is some kind of connection, who knows.

Here is a map of Braxton County.

The only thing I could find that was possibly off about this report was that Skin creek road is slightly out of Braxton county. But for me that is not a big deal, as that could have got mixed up or something changed within the county over time. Skin creek would be located near the upper right hand corner of the above map, just out of the county. So it is still very close.

Hope you enjoyed that old sighting report.

Thanks
Tom
