But the manufacturer later offered Device Upgrade To Android 4.0 (Ice cream Sandwich) over their software management app Kies
If your device is currently running on android 2.3 or 4.0 you can now upgrade to android 4.1.2 (Jellybean) official Rom from Samsung

REQUIREMENTS
- Ensure that your device is 80% charged
- Download Kies 2.6 here Please don't download or Use Kies 3 for this upgrade
SAMSUNG KIES METHOD
STEPS- Install the Kies app in Your Laptop /Desktop
- Open Kies app
- Connect Galaxy Phone to Kies -Plug your Samsung device in the computer via USB cable. When the phone is successfully detected and connected.Click "Firmware upgrade" button and start to upgrade according to the step-by-step instruction.
- NB:In order to upgrade firmware of a Samsung device, you need to make a connection between Kies and Samsung Galaxy handsets via USB. Wi-Fi connection is not supported.
- Follow the Guide to Complete Firmware Upgrade
- Read the advisory information, then, click "I have read all of the above information" checkbox and click the "Start upgrade" button to get started.
- Samsung Kies will automatically download some firmware components for upgrade
- Firmware upgrade will begin as soon as the downloading of firmware component finishes. You can check how the upgrade goes from the process bar. When it done, click "OK" to complete the process and disconnect your device.
ODIN METHOD
We are Going to use Odin 3.07
REQUIRED FILES
- Download Official Rom from Samsung (I9100XWLSZ) here
- Download Odin 3.07 from here
- Official Samsung USB drivers
- Download ODIN 3.07 and extract it to your computer. Connect your phone to the computer using the Phone's data cable/Usb cable.
- Turn the phone off for a minute, then restart the phone by pressing the "Home," "Power" and "Volume Down" buttons until you get a warning screen. Now release all the buttons and press "Volume Up" button,this will get you to Download mode
- Open the ODIN program on the computer. Select "Auto Reboot." Click "PIT" and select your Android device from the list. Click "PDA" and choose the TAR file for the Android program on which you will be installing ODIN.
- Leave all other options untouched
- The file that you downloaded from the above link
- Click "Start" to add the ROM to your phone and wait while your phone reboot
RECOVERY METHOD
Please do a backup before you can continueSTEPS
- Copy the downloaded files to a clean non-counterfeit SD card and paste in a easily accessible folder
- switch the phone in recovery mode: Press and hold 'Volume Up + Home + Power' buttons together and release them as soon as you see the Galaxy SII logo on your phone's screen
- Use Volume buttons to choose apply update from sdcard in the recovery menu.
- Press Power button to submit.
- Use Volume buttons to choose Rom file on sdcard
- Press Power button to start update.
- When update is complete choose reboot system now and press Power button to reboot your phone.
