10 Common Android Problems and How to Fix them

Android devices are used to perform numerous tasks seamlessly. These devices offer great reliability, stability, and protection against many problems. Despite that, these devices face some common smartphone problems. Let’s discuss top 10 Common Android Problems and their fixes.

Google Play Store crashing:
If you are facing Google Play Store crashing after you launch it, it might be causing due to corrupt Cache. In most cases, simply wiping its cache can fix the problem. Most Android versions usually follow the same steps. To do this, go to Settings > Apps > swipe right to locate “All” tab > Locate Google Play Store and wipe cache and data > Restart your device. If that fails, try to wipe data and cache for the following services:

• Google Play Services
• Google Services framework

Don’t forget to restart the device after performing the wipes.

Battery drain:
This is one of the most common issues with smartphones. It happens to due to various reasons like low battery backup, performing extensive tasks, background services, screen brightness, etc. To deal with the issue, you can enable the battery saving mode on your device to instantly stop the unnecessary services on your device. Alternatively, you can activate Power Saving mode on your device which again reduces battery consumption by displaying a simpler layout and allowing limited access to the apps.

Wi-Fi issues:
To fix Wi-Fi issues on your device, try to restart both router and device and then try to connect it again. Else put the phone on Airplane mode for few seconds and then try to connect to Wi-Fi. Alternatively, go to Wi-Fi > Settings > Menu > Advanced and select Stay connected to Wi-Fi option.

System UI not working:
If system user interface is not working on your device, try to fix the issue by restarting your device first. If it doesn’t work wipe the System UI cache. To do this, go to Settings > Apps > All and select System UI > wipe the cache and restart the device.

Downloads not working:
It happens sometimes that your downloads don’t work or fail, Your Android device include a dedicated download manager, and its cache may become corrupt. It can affect your downloads performance. To deal with it, just wipe the cache of Download Manager. To do this, go to Settings > Apps > swipe right to “All” and select Download Manager then wipe the cache and restart the device.

Android device crashes on boot:
If you face this problem, try to boot your device into Safe Mode. To do this on 4.1+ versions follow these steps.

• Hold down the Power button on your device until a popup appears.
• On the menu, press and hold down the Power Off option until a popup appears.
• Tap OK to reboot into Safe Mode.

For Android 4.0 and older versions follow these steps.

• Turn off your phone.
• Hold down the Power button on the side of your device.
• Hold the Volume Up + Volume Down button together when you see the boot screen logo. Hold it until it finishes booting.

Cluttered data:
This is another common problem with smartphones and Android isn’t exception to that. Your device performance starts diminishing due to cluttered and unorganized data on it. Your device space gets cluttered and unorganized due to lot of unnecessary data on it. This unnecessary data includes cache files, junk files, duplicate files and many other unnecessary files. To improve device performance, you can delete duplicate files and other junk files to recover some valuable storage space and improve device performance.

Android won’t respond: To deal with it, remove your device battery and reinsert it to fix the issue quickly. If you can’t remove your battery restart your device by holding down the power button for few seconds and then select restart option. If it doesn’t work call the expert of look for a replacement.

Syncing error with Google:
If you are facing problems with data syncing or backup try to fix it with some basic steps. To do this, first, check if you have updated your account’s details with device’s account details. Next is to enable Airplane mode on your device for few seconds (preferably 30 seconds) and try again to sync data. Alternatively, remove your Google account and add it again.

Android not reading microSD card:
To deal with this issue, go to Settings > Storage and scroll down to the bottom to find “Format SD card” option and select it. Restart your device for the changes to take place.

Apps won’t download:
To deal with it, go to Settings > Apps > All > google Play Store and press the “Clear cache” button. You can also wipe out Google Play Store’s history to fix the issue by heading to Settings > Clear local search history.
