There’s one team at Pronto that doesn’t always get the attention it deserves. Our company blog has articles about copywriters, graphic designers, and front-end coders, but it’s time we gave some credit to our Website Producers.
Pronto WPs are responsible for taking all the content other teams have created, and organizing it into a final product. A code snippet here, some headline copywriting there, all polished with the WP touch our clients have come to know and love.
There are 15 Protons on the WP team, and they’re all led by Nid.
Q1. The Pronto office is based in Bangkok. Is that where you were born and raised?
Answer: I wasn’t born and raised in Bangkok. Kampangphet, which is in the North of Thailand, is my hometown. I moved to Bangkok with my parents when I was 9. I’ve spent most of my life here, and eventually found an opportunity to work for Pronto.
Q2. Do you miss the slower pace of life in the North? What is the one thing you try to do every time you visit your family?
Answer: I miss the nature and the lifestyle in the North. When I was there, I would spent a lot of time at my grandparents’ house. They have a lot of rice fields where I would enjoy the greenery. I also like revisiting the famous waterfalls that I’ve visited when I was young. Overall, Kampangphet is a good escape where I can refresh and prepare myself before going back to work.
Q3. So, you came to Bangkok and started doing Web Content Support for JobsDB.com before coming to Pronto. What was the transition from content support to production like?
Answer: After I graduated, I started at JobsDB.com as a Web Content Support, but I didn’t get to do any CSS or HTML-related tickets. I wanted a challenge, and that’s why I became a Website Producer at Pronto. Since I’m always open to learning new things, the transition process was very smooth. I knew I didn’t have much experience when I started this job, but the lessons I’ve learned and the challenges I’ve faced were definitely worth it. I’m happy that I’m still here!
Q4. How would you summarize the Website Production job? What are some of the services Pronto provides in this field?
Answer: We’re in the backend, working with every internal team. After the client sends in their Request, WP takes action when project managers or other teams forward the tickets to us. It’s a new challenge everyday, and we usually don't know what to expect because clients can change their minds in a heartbeat.
We use our CSS and HTML skills to turn their expectation into reality. We upload their content, photos, news, etc. from their company to their website, and make sure they look good.
Q5. What do you love most about Pronto, and what makes it a place you’re excited to come to every day?
Answer: First things first, it’s my teammates. I love my WP team at Pronto the most. That’s the reason why I can make myself get up in the morning. And the people here are so nice, we can talk and share our ideas to each other freely. Not only is it a place to work, Pronto is also a place for endless growth.
Q6. Which aspect of working on the Website Production team is the most challenging?
Answer: It’s unpredictable. Clients sends in new requests everyday! They may look similar to other tickets, but it’s never the same. And I like that, I like to figure out what they want. And I’m even more happy when we can make it happen.
Q7. It's more than just copying and pasting work from the other teams. What are some ways you and your team add creative touches to Pronto websites?
Answer: You’re right. It’s not just copying and pasting. You have to use your creativity to make the layout of the content look good on the website. The best way to understand the clients is to see things from their point of view. Then, we upload content to the client’s website, making sure that the style and quality stays consistent throughout the entire site.
Q8. What’s the one client request you hear most often? This is your chance to set the record straight!
Answer: Landing pages. Clients always want a new page and update content on their website. We’ve seen this request very often. It gets up to 10-20 pages in the busiest day. The most challenging part is how we’re going to manage all these pages.
Q9. What's the one thing you wish you could tell every client the second they sign up?
Answer: Use us! We’re pros. I think the reason why clients return to us is because they know we do quality work. And it’s always a pleasure for us when clients get the website they wanted.
