New Guinness World Record for Largest Street Painting

…and it’s in 3D too! You don’t have to wear glasses for that one.

Joe Hill and Max Lawry are the creators of this beauty. For a short period of time, you could see it in London (West India Quays at Canary Wharf). As it would be impossible to paint that up all by themselves, they had lots of people (probably volunteers) to help them.

Hill’s and Lawry’s 3D Art took 1160.45m² to paint. Joe is very enthusiastic about it: “I am absolutely over the moon to have broken not one but two Guinness World Records for the longest and largest anamorphic painting!”. His life’s best work is also his most popular work to date.

Reebok is to thank for that too. The company’s initiative named Reebok Crossfit organized it. This is a very smart promotional activity, let’s hope they will have more ideas like that in the future.

What’s surprising, Reebok’s idea is very strong and original, but poorly promoted. It’s very hard to find anything about the program on the internet.

Mr. Hill and Mr. Lawry seem to both very secretive too, but their works are quite popular online. Below are few of the long line:

Here is Joe’s website. He and Max Lawry regularly travel around the globe with a noble objective: to vandalize it to a point where the whole system collapses. Their website: 3D Joe and Max.

Want some more on Street Art? Kurt Wenner is the father of 3D painting. Check out his website here (probably 640×480 compatible :) ). There is also a documentary about him titled “Masterpieces in Chalk”. Links to all three parts on Youtube: 1, 2 & 3.

Also, did you know that Street Art has its origins in XVI century Italy?
