4 Tips For Getting Your Social Media Content Shared

Is Your Social Media Content Being Shared?

“If content is king, then conversion is queen.” – John Munsell

The Internet is an amazing thing.  Go to the Google search bar and you will find answers to just about anything your heart desires. The higher the content ranks, the more likely it is that more traffic will go to that website or blog.  Optimizing your great content is one way to get those higher rankings.

Sharing your Social Media content is an essential part of your marketing strategy.  When people like what you have to say, they will naturally comment and in some cases share your post.  These actions build your online presence, popularity, and trustworthiness.

4 Tips for Getting Your Social Media Content Shared

#1.  Be Specific – Take your demographics into consideration.   Write content that appeals to your target market.  Like-minded people share information with other like-minded people.  Talking about the weather in Indiana when you’re trying to “court” your target area in Arizona will fall on deaf ears.

#2.  Discussion Starters – Posing a question or asking for an opinion is a great way to start a discussion.  Questions can be either trivial, challenging or controversial.  The controversial questions and comments must be done with a delicate tone.  Discussions must be inclusive or run the risk of alienating your target.

#3.  Images – Engaging images are the most shareable.  This includes both the funny and the thought-provoking.  People will often click the “like” or “share” button before (or without) reading the associated article.  Properly optimized images garner Google juice, too. Creating shareable memes is easy to do with services like Canva.

Something is happening. We are becoming a visually mediated society.  For many, understanding of the world is being accomplished, not through words, but by reading images. ~Paul Martin Lester

#4.  Thoughtful Titles – Create titles that are unique, thought-provoking, and interesting.  Deliver the content your post title promises.  Saying one thing in the title and providing something entirely different on your post or page will lead to discouraged followers.  Send people to the exact post or page where the content your title offers is located. In other words, don’t make them search.

Getting your Social media content shared is essential to building your online presence.  Instead of only being seen by your followers, shared content is exposed to your follower’s followers.
