This Is Why BJP-PDP Fall-Out Is A Blessing For Kashmir’s Security

As BJP snapped its ties with PDP in Jammu & Kashmir and Governor’s rule has been imposed in the state, the issue of security has got a new dimension altogether. The recent killing of Journalist Shujaat Bukhari indicates that the Kashmir’s valley demands the urgent and decisive intervention of the Indian Army.

In other words, the increasing influence of Pakistan sponsored terrorists and Pak-sympathy in the state highlights the need to end such mayhem in the state as soon as possible. No doubt, BJP’s pull out from a stable government has created a void, but also it has given a new opportunity to settle things down.

At present, the focus is back on the security of the valley itself which has been crippled due to secessionist movement by Islamic fundamentalists. Security of the state is the topmost priority now and Governor NN Vohra is the right person to begin the major overhaul.

Launching combat operations to dismantle the terror network is the urgent need of the day and now the forces won’t be facing considerable resistance from the political establishment.

In this regard, let’s not forget that PDP, which is dominated by pro-Pakistani Jamat-e-Islami sympathizers won’t be in a position to divert strong measures. Initiation of combat operations wasn’t possible in the Mufti era and that is one of the main reasons why BJP snapped its ties.

From another perspective, it can be said that, with greater synchronization between political and strategic will, it will be much easier to proceed with relentless combing operations and zero tolerance to terrorism.

A peaceful and uneventful Amarnath Yatra is another thing the central government is looking at and under present circumstances, it will be convenient for the forces to ensure such. The ceasefire move didn’t work out at all and the writings on the wall are clear.

And ‘protecting’ the Kashmiri youth from the myth of ‘Azaadi’ is another priority which definitely needs the direct influence of the armed forces.

Altogether, the Governor’s rule in Jammu & Kashmir has come at the right moment for Indian democracy, in greater interests of the local people.
