AAP Shames Indian Democracy: Chief Secretary Beaten Up By AAP MLAs

Ever since its political inception after the much famed Anna Hazare movement, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led by Arvind Kejriwal has always engaged the party in cheap opportunist politics. This time around, the party has reached a new low.

In a meeting called by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on issues pertaining to government ads, attended by Deputy Chief Minister Manish and 11 other party legislators, AAP MLAs threw verbal abuses and hit Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash.

A medical report has confirmed that the Bureaucrat was a victim of physical assault and cut marks and swelling on Prakash’s face were clearly visible. Although the Delhi High Court has refused to entertain a plea for judicial intervention, already the Delhi police have already started working on it.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan was arrested by Delhi police and he was booked under various sections of the Indian penal code for allegedly assaulting Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash. Apart from that, AAP legislator Prakash Jarwal has been detained by the police who may face arrest later.

No doubt, this is a sad day for Indian democracy. Post-independence, the target has always been to maintain swift coordination between elected members of the houses of Parliament and the bureaucrats.

The way AAP has been trying to add communal color in the incident is itself a huge embarrassment for the democracy as a whole. Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP has created a bad precedent and has shamed India in the bigger platform.
