WordPress LMS (Learning Management System) Plugin – (Day 11/30) #Bizathon2

I made quite a few IMPORTANT announcements in Day #11 – because this marks a new era of the Bizathon Challenges.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve noticed that we get a lower turnaround on weekends – and it makes sense because weekends are your time with your family.

And since I’m involved in multiple businesses, getting up at 3 AM and preparing for each sprint was taking a toll on my health and productivity.

So to make it a win-win for everyone…

I’ve decided to host the LIVE sprints for Bizathon challenges from:

Sunday to Thursday (ET)

5 Days a Week!

The timing will still be the same: 9 PM E.T.

Everything is still the same.

The only difference being: NO sprint on Friday 9 PM ET and Saturday 9 PM ET.

I’ve also decided to email about daily sprint updates to those who are actually invested and interested in the Challenge. If that’s you – then make sure you’re subscribe here.

In today’s “15 Minute Sprint“, I discussed the importance of an LMS plugin for WordPress if you’re selling courses and then installed an awesome but complicated LMS plugin called LearnDash

Selling Courses in WordPress

An L.M.S. or Learning Management System Plugin is what you need to install on your WordPress site to offer an amazing learning experience to your customers.

The reason we’re adding Bizathon Courses in the DOer Club is to provide a seamless and effortless learning experience to our members.

So we definitely needed LearnDash – the plugin we’re using as our LMS.

The core features of an LMS is:

  • Diving the content into courses, modules, and lessons
  • Ability for members to enroll, track, and complete courses
  • Certification (we may use this feature in the future)
  • Quizzes and Grading (an excellent way to stay accountable and learn better)
  • Badges (when certain modules/quizzes/courses are completed)

The reason I chose LearnDash is because I liked the way they presented demo courses on their demo site, and they’re also integrated with MembersForMe (the membership plugin that we’re using)

15 Minute Sprint

In the sprint, I actually bought the LearnDash product LIVE on camera.

Then I installed the core plugin.

Then created the first course, lesson, and topic skeleton.

And even played around in their settings.

All in all – a pretty fun user experience. But still a bit complicated because I’ve never used this plugin earlier.

There will of course be a learning curve, but Nisha is going at it this weekend by setting up the Bizathon Courses inside the plugin.

In Day #12, I’ll showcase the progress that she’s made and how she did it.

I look forward to reading and replying to your comments below:
