I am not sure exactly what color my skin ,
I know its in between caramel and dark chocolate,
but yet the society calls me black like I am some sort of shadow and they are the light,
I come from a part of the world where culture and tradition passed on to me by my ancestors influence my judgement in life,
I am from the same continent as that man who was forced to carry the cross of my Lord and personal Saviour,

I am not one to cross my legs and wait for some Prince with his horse to come and rescue me like the princesses,
I watched while growing up,
No!
that is what princesses do ,
not Queens ,
I rescue myself by working hard
and staying focused,
because unlike the rest of my kind,
I am not just a queen
but a Queen with an inborn greatness,
known as "Melanin"
