I love Makeup and most times I wear it to class , work , church , the shopping mall even at home. Sometimes I don't draw my brows perfectly or my eye shadow seems to be everywhere or my lipstick colour looks extremely odd or I start to sweat. Sometimes I get compliments or I get toasted or even something nice from looking beautiful.
There is one major rule that I have learnt the hard way about applying makeup which is the Law of Appropriateness. Imagine if you were going for a Job Interview at a bank and you wore a green lipstick , extremely long lashes and a bright red eye-shadow. You probably would not get that job because your makeup was highly inappropriate.
It is the responsibility of every Baby girl to look presentable at all times but looking presentable is subject to the circumstance or event . You cannot be wearing Haute Couture makeup to a Job interview for an accountant .
Its the same way you would not wear a bikini to a church event and a pair of high heels to run a marathon. Although there is nothing wrong with a bikini and high heels , in those stated environment , it is highly inappropriate.
Before you do your makeup and get ready for an event , you should ask yourself some questions like
- Which side of me am I channelling today?
- Where am I going today?
- Is it a conservative place, a liberal place or an artistic place?
- How would those people respond to the person I look like when I am done making up?
- Is today strictly academics, business , or work? Or is it fashion, party or casual?
- How can I best achieve my goal for today without looking to dramatic or under-dressed?
When in doubt stick to the natural makeup , you can check out Youtube videos or makeup tutorials.
