Amityville: The Awakening is finally being released, but not in the way you expected.

After being shuffled around release schedules for literally years, Amityville: The Awakening is finally being released… on Google Play… for free.

That’s right, from Oct. 12 to Nov. 8 you can watch Amityville: The Awakening for free on Google Play. It will also get a limited release on Oct. 28.

THis really does feel like the correct ending to this film. It was filmed in 2014 with a release due for January 2, 2015. But as late as Feb. 2016 star Bella Thorne was seen doing reshoots on the film. Every year it lands on a release date just finally go get moved.

At this point I want to watch it just as an oddity. What could have gone so wrong with this movie? I guess we’re about to finally find out.
